Read-through corrupts 2nd proof before its arrival

Last night when I couldn’t sleep, I picked up the first proof copy of GANI & SEAN, began to read from somewhere in the middle. I slowed my reading pace, and sure enough made those little changes a reader can never know were made, changes such as dropping a “to” from a sentence, changing another “to” to an “in” in a different sentence, changing a pronoun to the person’s name, etcetera. All these little alterations even before the second proof arrives. So, my second proof is already corrupt, so to speak.
